Samsung Galaxy J6 Camera, Battery, Screen and Performance Test

This one is a brand new effort to disrupt the budget smartphone segment; the Samsung is back with a bang! The Samsung Galaxy J6 with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage at just 13,990 will shake the markets. With the Chinese phones dominating the markets, does it actually stand a chance though? Let’s find out!

Inside the box

Along with a Samsung Galaxy J6 phone, (obviously!) you get a charging adapter, basic earphones, and a micro USB cable for data transfer and charging. The phone is a dual-SIM smartphone and has a microSD card slots.

Display

The phone comes with a 5.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED ‘Infinity Display’. But the feature that makes it different and attractive from the previous Samsung phones is the screen-to-body ratio—18:5:9. This is the best display you can get in this price range. Thanks to AMOLED panel, everything is vivid with decent viewing angles.  As for using the phone in sunlight, you need to make the brightness full for clear visibility.

Camera

The camera has the aperture of f/1.9 for both front and rear cameras, which are 8 MP and 13 MP. The pictures, whether clicked by the front cameras or the rear camera, will be aesthetically pleasing to your eyes. The modes of the camera will not disappoint you either. You can choose any out of Pro Mode, Night Mode, HDR, Beauty, Panorama, and Stickers.

The night photography, however, is a weak point in the many megapixel camera as this. The images appear grainy even with an aperture of f/1.9. Also, if you are planning to photograph in the low light conditions of a club or party, then this is not the phone you should use.

However, the selfie camera with the LED flash will not disappoint you.

The camera is auto mode is integrated with the Samsung Mall and allows the visual search. So, simply point the camera at the product you like and buy it on any e-commerce site.

Software

The Samsung Galaxy J6 works on Android 8.6 Oreo-based TouchWiz UI. The phone is loaded with so m software that even Facebook is reduced to a bloatware. Fortunately, you can uninstall the system apps if they are just affecting the device performance.

The mobile is equipped with all the apps that an average user might need. You can even secure your sensitive files in a Knox-powered ‘Secure Folder’.

Conclusion

A phone under the budget by a company like Samsung cannot be avoided that is for sure. It is a decent device with all the necessary features in an appropriate price range.
