The Kings XI Punjab are positive and upbeat with their opening win and are excited for their match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Kings XI’s bowlers performed well in their previous match with 17 year old spinner Mujeeb-ur-Rahman taking two wickets against the Daredevils and managed to clinch the victory without their star performer Chris Gayle who might be opening the batting today. The Royal Challengers on the opposing did not deliver with their bowling with their spin bowling duo of Chahal and Sundar giving away 77 runs in 56 balls and taking only one wicket. However RCB did pretty well with the bat in their first match against KKR with Mccullum and de Villiers who scored 43 off 27 balls and 44 off 23 balls correspondingly, though skipper Virat Kohli did not seem to put on his usual best and would be hoping to live up to his batting prowess that he is known for.
The pitch is a batsman delight at Bangalore and the team winning the toss would prefer to bat first. It is a small ground and being situated at a high altitude the lesser density in air will make the ball travel farther and with dew falling in later which will make controlling lengths tougher, in the match no captain of the teams would like to bowl second where the bowlers are going to face a hard time getting wickets.
RCB has a solid batting line up with the likes of Kohli, McCullum and De Villiers and Kings XI with Gayle probably coming in to open and KL Rahul who made the fastest fifty off sixteen balls in IPL history in their previous match and who will be playing at his home ground are some of the indications that this match might prove to be a batting extravaganza so both teams need to perform with the ball today at this high scoring ground.
