Bangalore: Looks like JDS is a black horse especially in Byatarayanapura constituency & is heading strongly towards the finishing line. The reason being the suicidal act of Congress 2 time MLA & Minister Krishna Byre Gowda with his unruly behavior with public and not taking development works on time. Garbage, stormwater drain & drinking water are the major issues to be addressed in this particular constituency and has been unresolved from past 5 years.
The Karnataka polls will commence on 12th May, 2018 with the results to be declared on 15th May. With the Election Commission’s declaration of the dates for the Karnataka Assembly Elections the political debates have already been ignited and speculations are making the rounds as to who may emerge victorious in the Assembly Elections. This will be a single-phase election for the 224 member Karnataka Legislative Assembly.
The focus is on the three major parties the Congress, the BJP and the JD (S) recognized as a state party here. The president of the BJP Amit Shah in reference to the upcoming polls stated that the party would win the elections with a clear majority under the leadership of BS Yeddyurappa. At the same time CM Siddaramaiah too expressed confidence about coming to back to power for the second tenure.
The major reasons why the JD (s) will post a definite win:
Alliance with BSP
There have been opinion polls stamping Congress or the BJP as the lead contender for the elections to be held on 12th May. However, a closer look at the circumstances reveal a favorable stance for the JD(S). HD Deve Gowda the group leader of the JD (S) is of the credence that its alliance with Mayawati, led BSP will help them gain a resounding victory.
The BSP which had contested in the state earlier had registered 30,000 votes without winning a seat and the JD (S) will have an advantage because of this coalition wherever they are losing 1,000-2,000 votes. In 1994 the JD had secured 113 seats out of 224 seats and will be looking to repeat the same this poll.
A favorite among the majority
Former CM HD Kumaraswamy son of the president of JD (S) was confident that his party will get a majority of the votes this Assembly Elections and secure at least 25 seats in next year’s Lok Sabha polls. The party has enjoyed confidence among the foremost political groups the Vokkaligas and the Lingayat who have a dominant base in the southern parts of the state.
Apart from this the party is sure of performing well in the northern parts of the state as well. The campaigning has seen a deep penetration covering 30-32 constituencies in the northern part where the former CM is in no doubt of winning at least 35-38 seats in this region alone.
The election drive of the JD (S) has seen a huge draw of the farming community in the northern part. At the present moment it can be clearly seen that the people are investing their trust in the JD (S) who have promised workable solutions for the community. It is also reported that in the event of a hung assembly the JD (S) will have a majority.
