The Mumbai Indians are aiming for a victory today after their very bitter one wicket loss to CSK. The Sunrisers on the other hand in contrast had a resounding nine wicket win over RR. It is to be noted that SRH has a good percentage of wins and had won 6 out of 7 games in the last edition of the IPL in their home ground and this year have been exceptional with both the ball and the bat. Mumbai in comparison had struggled with their opening batting, and Captain Rohit Sharma has to show the talent he is made of in today’s match.
SRH seem to have struck a perfect harmony with variety in bowling , Bhuvneshwar Kumar leading the seam attack and Rashid Khan with his clever bowling and Shikhar Dhawan already showing his prowess with the bat in the previous game. And things couldn’t seem shoddier for the Mumbai Indians as they will miss ace Australian bowler Pat Cummins due to bone odema in his vertebrae, but the batting line-up is robust with the likes of the skipper Rohit Sharma, Evin Lewis and Kieron Pollard.
On a slow pitch like this at the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium one logically would opt to bowl first which obviously depends on the toss.
SRH therefore become an instant favourite for today’s match, though Mumbai Indians would give their best shot with Rohit Sharma’s men looking to record their first victory yet after their defeat to CSK though all the stats are stacked up against them.
A lot depends on today’s toss as that will enable the team to capitalize the conditions of the ground. Though we expect the Sunrisers to perform well with the bat but then again this is a slow pitch wherein the bowlers might have an advantage.
It is anticipated, that Mumbai will come up with an effective game strategy today, against the Sunrisers at their home ground at Hyderabad, from 8:00 p.m. I.S.T onwards.
