Huawei is a Chinese Company with more than 10 years in the market of cellphones, experience that has positioned it among 1st tier smartphone companies. Huawei’s success is due to the fact that they have cracked the formula for making amazing cellphone without exceeding with the price, reaching the perfect balance between cost and performance is not an easy task an Huawei makes it seem like a piece of cake.
Huawei Y6 has had great expectations since it was announced and it is said that it will be launched by May 2018.
The Huawei Y6 has dimensions of 152.4 x 73 x 7.8 mm. or 6 x 2.87 x 0.31 inches and this very light smartphone weighs only 150 grams or 5.29 oz. which is not very common for these kinds of phones.
The Y6 will come with a S-IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen 16 MP display measuring 5.7 inches or 83.8 cm2 which translate into a 75.4% screen-to-body ratio. It has a ratio of 18:9 which has become trendy in the newest phones but the resolution is only 720 x 1440p.
The new Huawei Y6 runs on Android 8.0 Oreo and not 8.1 as many people expected. It is powered by a 1.4 GHz Cortex A-53 quad-core processor with a Qualcomm MSM8917 Snapdragon 425 chipset. This makes a very powerful machine.
However, it will come with only 16 GB for storage space and a RAM of only 2 GB which makes for a downside even if the storage can be enhanced to 256 via microSd. Most peope believe that only 2 GB will bring performance issues. But since it has a powerful processor, we will just have to wait and see if it has lag problems.
It comes with a humble 13 MP primary camera and a 5 MP secondary camera for selfies. It does not present a fingerprint sensor so far and comes with a non-removable Li-on 3000mAh battery. You will be able to get in black, gold or blue colors.
For the price, we will have to wait and see if the price makes it a well-balanced affordable/powerful phone.
