Xiaomi is a company that has been struggling to make it to the “major league” smartphone market and it is now competing with the most important companies, even though Xiaomi focuses in good-performance/fair-price smartphones. It has gained great acknowledgement by the public who is always at the expectance of Xiaomi’s new releases. And regarding their most recent release, the Redmi 5 Plus is expected to be launched in May 2018.
However, it name has not been confirmed yet since there are people who claim that instead the name of Redmi 5 Plus, it will be named Xiaomi Redmi Note 5.
Regardless of its new, what we know is that it seems to be a very promising device. So let us check what the specifications are.
Let us begging by talking about its dimensions, 158.5 x 75.5 x 8.1 mm which is the same as to say 6.24 x 2.97 x 0.32 inches. Its weight is not so light with 180 grams or 6.35 oz. It is built with front glass, aluminum body and plastic ends in the back. It present hybrid dual SIM slot for both Nano-SIM and dual stand-by.
It features an excellent IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen 16 MP display that measures 5.99 inches or 92.6 cm2 that translates into 77.4% screen-to-body ratio. Its resolution is 1080 x 2160 pixels with a ratio of 18:9. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass of an unspecified version.
The Redmi 5 Plus will have an octa-core of 2.2GHz powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset that runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat instead of the expected 8.0 Oreo. It will come in two variations: 63 GB of storage space with 4 GB RAM or 32 GB storage with only 3 GB RAM. The good news is that the storage can be enhanced by a micro SD of 128 GB.
It will perform a 12 MP primary camera and a secondary camera of 8 MP. The battery will be non-removable powerful Li-Po 4000 mAh and it will feature fingerprint scanner on the rear.
Finally, The Redmi 5 Plus will come in Black, Gold, Light Blue or Rose Gold.
